Dr. Małgorzata Ćwikła – Lecturer Environmental and Sustainability Studies

ĆwikłaMałgorzata Ćwikła's main research interests include ecology, sustainable management practices, the future of work during the climate emergency, and creative responses to environmental challenges.

She graduated in Polish Philology from the University of Wrocław and completed two PhD studies, one in management and the second in the Interdisciplinary PhD program 'Society – Environment – Technology' at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Poland.

Małgorzata worked for several years at the Faculty of Management and Social Communication of the Jagiellonian University, where she developed a strong interest in environmental humanities and sustainability studies. In parallel, she completed numerous courses on landscape ecology, the human-caused climate crisis, nature in cities, and transdisciplinary approaches to research.

Since 2021, she has been working at ICLEI Europe Local Governments for Sustainability, collaborating, among others, with the New European Bauhaus Initiatives, the European Environmental Agency, and diverse consortia implementing international projects supporting sustainable ambitions in cities.

At University College Freiburg, she is a lecturer in the Major Environmental and Sustainability Sciences.
