Ermelinda Kanushi – Lecturer Governance

Kanushi

Ermelinda Kanushi is an International Relations and Governance expert with a focus on Sustainable Development. She has extensive teaching experience having regularly taught courses for universities inside and outside of Germany. Ms. Kanushi has obtained a Bachelor of Science in International Relations from the University of Istanbul and a Master of Science in European Studies from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden.

Before joining academia, Mrs. Kanushi worked in various capacities and projects for multiple international and national non-governmental organizations such as German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), AWO Kreisverband Hildesheim Alfeld Leine e.V., Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), etc.

She has taught courses at the University of Hildesheim in Germany before joining the Liberal Arts and Science’s Governance major team of the University College Freiburg (UCF),

As a university lecturer, Ms. Kanushi has taught regularly on subjects such as International Relations, European Institutions, Politics and History of the European Union, International Organizations, Research in International Organizations and Foreign Affairs, Sustainable Development Goals, Global Challenges etc.

Her research and teaching interests are mainly on subjects such as; global challenges, sustainable development goals (SDGs), international organizations, civil activism or theories of international relations. She is a passionate lecturer who designs her courses utilizing problem-based learning (PBL) and other student-led learning techniques. She believes that education should be a blend of theoretical background and practical abilities.

Ms. Kanushi invites regularly guest lectures on her courses from diverse fields of expertise. Ms. Kanushi is a polyglot, speaking around 5 languages.
